Let us tell you about this special place in Narciso, Zambales that we recently discovered. It has an extensive 26-hectare ranch estate in a private compound gating lush number of Aguho trees (pine tree-like),  and a striking landscape- grandeur staging of the ocean to the west and high mountains to the east.  Let us re-introduce, Zambawood.

Zambawood is a private beach house nestled behind the pine trees along the lovely coast of San Narciso, Zambales. Built by Rachel and Keith Harrison for their son Julyan who has special needs. They envision the place to provide a safe space that is close to nature where their son can thrive in a tranquil place and live with joy and purpose. Rachel and Keith have built something special here, and we don’t just mean the structure.

Its doors are open for anyone of us who needs a blissful escape from the sometimes chaotic city lives we all cave in from our 9-5 jobs. Patrons go here for weekend vacations, company retreats, used as a backdrop for local movies, and often times for pre-nuptial shoots.

THE BEACH HOUSE

Zambawood’s vision started with The Beach House. Surrounded by Aguho pine trees growing on ripe volcanic nature with the beach in full view, The Beach House is penned from the inspired hand and mind of its founder (Rachel) whose architect background drew the modern-industrial structure, black cement floor, clean white walls, high lofty ceilings, and complemented by curated pieces of contemporary and classical Asian pieces.

There are four air-conditioned guest rooms (includes 2 master bedrooms) divided across each wing of the house.

A quiet romantic poolside table is quite fitting for romantic dinner set up or as a long-table that can serve up to a party of 50 people.

The outdoor swimming pool – with enough space for casual lounging and a perfect spot to look out to the ocean and using the vast number of trees as an elemental filter for your eyes

Fully-equipped kitchen – functional and complete with appliances. You’ll have your electric oven fridge, coffee machine, a microwave, and even a griller which you put out on the deck for an awesome BBQ party, Particularly striking is the kitchen island, where you will find a solid piece of hardwood that owner reclaimed from her mother’s backyard during a strong typhoon.

WHAT TO DO 

Games and entertainment – just beside the living area is the Game Room which is decorated with a widescreen TV, a BlueRay/DVD player, a gaming console, a pool table,  table tennis table, and choices of movie genres.

The Beach house has high-speed internet and ambient speakers peppered around the house and outside the pool area.

THE BEACH

Pine-scraped shoreline provides a serene setting where you can be totally be immersed in peacefulness.  An easy walk around the Zambawood pine to the beach shoreline of La Paz, the surfing spot of Zambales.

HOW TO REACH ZAMBAWOOD

• Address: La Paz, San Narciso, Zambales (Only 3 hours and 30 minutes from Makati, Manila which totals to 200kms via NLEX and SCTEX.
• Get on NLEx/E1/R-8 in Balintawak, Quezon Cityfrom C-5, Lanuza Ave and Epifanio de los Santos Ave/Pan-Philippine Hwy/AH26/C-4
• Follow NLEx/E1/R-8 and N Luzon W Expy to Rizal Hwy in Subic Bay Freeport Zone. Take the exit toward Olongapo City from N Luzon W Expy
